Teaching Workshops
The number of people who study classical texts has decreased considerably these
days. Dispelling the belief that ancient language is difficult, communication between
ancient and modern languages is needed to bring the valuable ideas of ancient literature
to the masses. In this regard CESCK is continuosly conducting advanced classical
Kannada texts reading and study workshops across the state . The aim is to train
the teachers, lecturers, researchers, graduate and post graduate students who teach
Kannada language about the ‘Ways of reading and understanding Halagannada and Nadugannada
which are the roots of Modern Kannada texts’. Many workshops have been supported
by Kannada Sahitya Parishad too. Various universities and organizations are associated
with the centre. A number of senior scholars of Kannada participated as resource
persons. Artists were invited to depict classical Kannada Texts through musical
recitals. The Center is convinced that around one thousand Kannada faculty and young
researchers from different parts of Karnataka State have benefited by participating
in these camps through which lakhs of students of Karnataka have been able to read
and interpret classical Kannada texts. These camps were held in Belgaum, Chikkaballapur,
Chamarajanagar, Bidar, Kolar, Chitradurga, Kodagu, Mandya and Mysore and their brief
informations are given here.
